My yahoo email ID and password were stolen by one in Nigeria. What should I do ?

Some one by email ID: myshariff@rediffmail.com from Nigeria committed ID theft of my yahoo mail and changed the password. He sent emails to all my friends and relatives that I got stranded in Nigeria without money and asked them to send $ 2500 immediately by money transfer to Nigeria. What should I do to get back my email ID with a new password of my choice ?

yes the same thing happened to me too. it happened yesterday. Actually my previous yahoo account was hacked by someone. It was not taking my current password but due to secret question, birthday and other personal details, I have retrieved my yahoo account and got a new password. But further I have come to know that my email was used by that hacker and sent crap emails( western union money transfer secret question and all crap) to my friends.

Go to rediffmail.com, click on forgot password then u will be asked to enter ur rediff email id, then go ahead, u will be asked to enter personal detail like ur best friend's name, birthday, sex and ur alternate email id, just fill all dis details.. u will be donw with ur new rediff password

Send an email with your yahoo (hacked one) in subject line.. then wait for response (instant) then reply ( do not change subject line) and answer questions asked (they can view info. before changes) and then wait 12-48 hours.. they will have you back in your account once you verify!
Reply:Unless you can do the "forgot password" and answer your security questions, you'll simply have to abandon that email address and make a new one.
