Is there a way to recover my lost password for an email program by going into my internet history?
If you are using FireFox, then you can recover your password.

Just go to Tools, scroll down to Options. Click on Privacy (should be a lock icon), then click on the Password tab %26amp; then click on the View Saved Passwords button. The passwords you typed should be listed.

Tools %26gt; Options %26gt; Privacy %26gt; Password %26gt; View Saved Passwords

Please note that this method only work for retrieving passwords used to login into certain sites. This does not retrieve passwords for programs that do not require Internet Connection to login.

To find such software that retrieve passwords that are not in the Internet, please look for some freeware programs. I got my password recovery tool from freeware websites. Hope it helps.
Reply:Look for a program called Cain and Abel. Another similar program is LC4, which was also called LophCrack.

The passwords are usually not included in the History file but might be available in an associated Temp/Tmp file.

Many email sites have a login option that says "Keep me logged in" or "Save this password". If you remember the first character, the rest of the field will autofill.

If you use various logins, you should make a bookmark with a built-in prompt. Example: Your gmail login is BadDog08 and your password is whoof. The bookmark reads: gmail ~BD08 ~bark . That should be enough "hint" to recover the password.
