When starting with a new internet sevice provider do they have to know my email password or is thisinformation?
Well yes of course they do otherwise how will you be able to access the email service if it's not on their system?
Reply:your email password is potentially no less important than your bank card pin details, and something only you should know. if the email address you talk about is new and was offered to you from this same internet service provider- then they will ask you to create a password for it on its registration sign up page before you can use it. That would be perfectly normal, but only when initially signing up for it. If they are either asking you for your password from an existing email service that they do not run themselves, or asking for any private information such as passwords over the phone, then that is not right. If its over the phone, then report them, and note the time you were called to police. If they requested it via email, it could be fake junkmail pretending to be your new internet provider. If that is the case then simply ignore it. If you are not 100% sure then never take the chance of giving important details out to companies or users that may not be who they say, trying to potentially either take personal ID or password information only you should ever know
Reply:This is information that you should keep to yourself.

Many internet service providers will give you a username and password to use their own e-mail service, but they don't need to know your own e-mail password for any e-mail address that you already had.

You may have to input any username and password that they give you though, either to use the internet or use their own e-mail service. But they don't need to know any other passwords, like your yahoo e-mail password.
Reply:Your new internet service provider (ISP) will send you any passwords you need, and these are usually computer generated and the ISP does not need to know it.

You should always keep your passwords to yourself - ISPs don't need to know them, nor does anyone else - it's exactly the same as a PIN supplied by your bank. The bank don't need to know it and you shouldn't tell anyone else.
Reply:They definitely do NOT need to know any of the passwords that you have already. They may ask you to define a NEW password for their email system though, but do not share any of your existing passwords.
Reply:If you are setting up a new email account with the ISP then yes they do need the password, but you set that up during the sign up stage - they do not require it after that.
Reply:If you're setting up email on their server (e.g., mail.ISPName.net), you'll have to enter a password. They don't need your passwords for webmail services like gmail, hotmail or yahoo and shouldn't be asking.
